SSG Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)
The Sunflower State Games is aware of the ongoing concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). We are committed to take the necessary steps to help prevent the spread of this virus, and others, during our multi-sport festivals including the Sunflower State Games, Kansas Senior Games, and Topeka Corporate Games. Preparedness is key; therefore, we urge our patrons to follow the recommendations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Shawnee County Health Department. A trusted resource, the CDC recently posted information on how to prevent the spread of coronavirus in communities. We ask our patrons to refer to these recommendations and check the CDC website regularly, as the guidance will be updated as additional information becomes available. In addition, the USOPC has been issuing updates surrounding the coronavirus as well as offering links to supporting documents. For more information, please visit the following link: https://www.teamusa.org/Coronavirus-Updates. The Sunflower State Games will continue to monitor the situation and pass along updates as they become available in regards to already scheduled events. Our organization will follow the guidelines and advice from partner venues as it pertains to play or no play status. As of now, the 2021 Sunflower State Games and 2021 Kansas Senior Games events will go on as planned with an abbreviated schedule. For the most recent updates on sport cancellations please visit the 2021 Sport Page you are interested in competing in. Thank you for your support of the Sunflower State Games.
In the event that a sport you signed up for is canceled and cannot be rescheduled, your sports registraton fee will be refunded or you can elect to have a credit for a future event. The nominal credit card processing fee (approximately $3 per transaction) cannot be refunded as those expenses are incured through the credit card companies and our registration vendor.
